Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (Regd.) was started in the year 1973 with the objective of rendering social, charitable, educational and medical services blended with spiritualism to the people of Karnataka, India and even for NRI community of the world under the stewardship of the pontiff of Sri Adichunchanagiri Math jagadguru sssssSri Sri Sri Balagandadarnatha Maha Swamiji who is also the President of the Trust.
The Trust is currently running over 300 educational and charitableinstitutions including the International residential school at Kumbalagadu near Bangalore, 3 Engineering colleges and the prestigious Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) and the associated hospital Adichunchanagiri Hospital and Research Centre (AH&RC)
AIMS was started in the year 1986 at Balagangadharanatha Nagar (B.G.Nagar) located in 200 acre plot along NH 48, 107 KM from Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka State.
It is premier rural educational institution catering to the health needs of the rural populace in preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative domains beside teaching and training for Undergraduate (UG) of MBBS and Post Graduate (PG) students.
The Institutions is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) and General Medical Council of UK and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka.

To keep in pace with technology for teaching and training for the students Medvarsity, telemedicine Project has been introduced for the benefit of the students. Our college is first in Karnataka to have introduced this on Line Education where students will have the interaction, discussion with audiovisual presentations of various aspects of medicine through computers. By this programme our college is connected with some o the leading Medical Colleges of India and also abroad where the students of this institution can have access to the clinical presentation, discussion and mutual exchange of knowledge by discussion through Audio Visual channel.
